Liberty Ranks Fourth in ITA Atlantic Region, Wilson Lands at 10th

The Liberty Flames were ranked No. 4 in the ITA Atlantic Regional Year-End Rankings, senior Josh Wilson finished the year ranked 10th in singles. The Flames finished the year off strong with a title at the first-ever Universal Tennis NIT Championship. This is the third straight year Liberty finished in the top four in the state of Virginia.
Liberty finished its year with a 17-10 (7-1 ASUN) record, making it to the ASUN Championship semifinals. The Flames impressed with strong wins against six ranked programs. Liberty carried its own national ranking from Feb. 28 to April 24 with a season-high ranking at No. 63. Four Flames were named to ASUN All-Conference teams with Wilson and Rafael Marques Da Silva being named to the first team.
Senior Josh Wilson finished out his Liberty tenure accumulating a 17-14 (5-1 ASUN) record while playing all his matches in the No. 1 position. Along with his ASUN All-Conference first-team nod, Wilson was tabbed ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was a two-time ASUN Player of the Week (Feb. 1, March 22). Wilson broke the record for all-time singles wins (92) and finished tied for first in all-time doubles wins (82).
