    Credentials

Liberty University strictly enforces a credential approval policy designed to best allocate working media credentials in order to maximize coverage in a safe, professional working environment. Unfortunately, it is not possible to accommodate all requests. Firm guidelines for assigning media credentials are listed below, but all credentials are issued at the expert discretion of the designated Athletics Communications Director. Liberty University reserves the right to deny or revoke media credentials at all times.

Requests for season and single-game credentials should be emailed to the appropriate communications representative at least 48 hours prior to the requested event. Due to space limitations, credentials will be issued to full-time journalists from media outlets that cover Liberty Athletics regularly and substantially or to representatives who regularly and customarily perform services for that outlet.

Credentials are not transferable and should only be used by media members with a legitimate working function. Non-working individuals from a media outlet, children, spouses, friends, etc., will not be permitted in media areas. Violation of this policy will result in immediate revocation of credentials. Issuance of season media credentials does not guarantee working space on press row or in media work areas.

Priority is granted to media entities that cover Liberty Athletics on a regular and substantial basis, which includes coverage of press conferences, home and road games, and to visiting media members, using the following guidelines:

    • Originating radio and television personnel involved in a live television or radio broadcast of a Liberty athletics event.
    • Daily newspapers, wire services and regional and national publications.
    • Non-originating radio and television personnel.
    • Officially recognized Liberty University student publications and electronic media outlets.
    • Non-daily newspapers, websites and other publications.

Due to limited space, credentials will generally not be issued to freelance or amateur writers or photographers without a specific assignment received in writing from the assigning organization. Requests from these individuals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and granted on a game-by-game basis when space is available at the discretion of the Liberty Athletics Communications Office.

In addition, credentials will be issued to websites on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Liberty Athletics Communications Office. Priority will be given to websites that are affiliated with an accredited media outlet. Websites must have editorial, news-gathering content and not merely sponsor message boards, message centers or chat rooms where people are allowed to post anonymous information.

By acceptance of a credential, the bearer agrees to abide by all of the Liberty University, Big South Conference and NCAA policies and procedures as well as conduct him/herself in a professional and ethical manner. Violation of any of these policies will result in immediate revocation of credentials. The Liberty Athletics Communications Office reserves the right to revoke or deny credentials at any time.

Generally, one-on-one media interviews with Liberty players, staff or coaches will be restricted to credentialed media, although the Liberty Athletics Communications Office will evaluate all interview requests on a case-by-case basis.
