The Liberty men’s tennis team recorded a historic second-best mid-major recruiting 2023 class according to TennisRecruiting.net (TRN). The Flames have the second-best class among mid-majors and the 26th-ranked class among all tennis programs.

This is the best ranking for an incoming class in program history. Players included in Liberty’s class with TennisRecruiting.net rankings are No. 31 Chase Robinson (Spartanburg, S.C.), No. 76 Matjia Samardzic (Podgorica, Montenegro) and Dung Em Oliver Dao (Bratislava, Slovakia).

“Our goal here is to continue to pursue excellence every single day,” said associate head coach Trevor Foshey. “We believe this recruiting class is going to help us do exactly that! Big things ahead for Liberty Men’s Tennis!”

Pepperdine edged the Flames for best mid-major recruiting class while Liberty topped fellow Conference USA import Jacksonville State (No. 10) and in-state foe Old Dominion (No. 3). The top recruiting class in the nation went to Georgia.

Liberty finished last year with a 17-10 record that concluded with the squad securing the first-ever Universal Tennis NIT Championship title. The Flames are looking to fill the void of departing seniors Josh Wilson, Christiaan Worst, Beau Pelletier and Zion Heaven.
