For the third consecutive season, Liberty All-American Calli Doan has been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team. Additionally, both the Flames and Lady Flames were honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams for their overall academic success as a program.
Doan helped Coach Heather Zealand’s women’s cross country squad post a team cumulative GPA of 3.38. Meanwhile, Coach Isaac Wendland’s Flames boast a team GPA of 3.20.
Doan earned her USTFCCCA All-Academic Team berth by virtue of her all-region performance and a cumulative GPA above 3.25.
A native of Apex, N.C., Doan maintains a 4.0 GPA as she is pursuing a master’s degree in human performance. She graduated with a 3.99 GPA and a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in May 2022.
The ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year capped off her final collegiate cross country season by repeating as ASUN individual champion (in a meet-record 5K time of 16:21.0) and placing 10th at the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships.
Doan finished inside the top 10 of all six of her races in 2022, also including victories at the Liberty Challenge and Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational and a program-record 16:15.1 5K for seventh at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational.
