    3 Flames Earn Inclusion to CSC Academic All-District Team

    Liberty forward Luke Eberle, midfielder Seth Clark and defender Brayden Borutskie are part of the 2022 College Sports Communicators Men’s Soccer Academic All-District team.

    To earn inclusion on the team, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve, have played in at least 50% of his team’s games and has at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. In addition, a student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at his current institution.

    As a result of their inclusion on the academic all-district team, the three will now appear on the ballot for the 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Men’s Soccer Team®. The first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in December.

    Eberle, a sophomore from Arnold, Md., was named to both the 2022 ASUN All-Conference second team and the 2022 ASUN All-Academic team this season. The forward
    played in all 15 Liberty contests, starting 14 matches, and posted career highs with six goals and 14 points. He also had two assists.

    Eberle completed 2022 tied for the Liberty lead in goals and was second on the team in points. He tied for fifth in the ASUN in goals and seventh in the conference in points.

    A three-year member of the Flames’ roster, Eberle holds a 3.83 grade point average in psychology. He has been named to the ASUN Academic Honor Roll in each of the previous two academic years.

    Clark, a junior from Darfield, New Zealand, started every game this season for Liberty. The midfielder tied his career high of nine points with three goals and three assists. The midfielder scored the game-winning goal in the Flames’ 2-0 victory over Bellarmine on Sept. 10.

    Clark is a two-time ASUN All-Conference second team member (2021 Spring, 2021 Fall) and was named to the 2021 Fall ASUN All-Academic team. He holds a 3.51 grade point average in psychology and is a three-time ASUN Academic Honor Roll member.

    Borutskie, a junior from Bradford, Ontario, Canada, started and played in 14 games for the Flames in 2022. The defender averaged a team-high 87.3 minutes played per game and was part of four shutouts. He has started 54 of the 56 Liberty games during his career.

    Borutskie holds a 3.53 grade point average in exercise science. He has been a member of the ASUN Academic Honor Roll reach of his previous three academic years at Liberty.
