Today’s Flames Minute: Wednesday

Pitcher Mikey Tepper is the latest Liberty baseball player to be taken in the Major League Draft. Tuesday, Tepper was taken in the 15th round by the Washington Nationals. In his first season with Liberty, Tepper went 3-4 with a 5.23 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 65.1 innings. The Flames have now had 75 players drafted in program history and have had at least one player drafted in 23 out of the last 24 years.

In other news, the Liberty women’s swimming & diving team claims a CCSA Scholar All-America Academic team award. Also, four Lady Flames were named CCSA Scholar All-Americans. Eva Suggs, Heather Gardner, Abbie Shaw and Meagan Tuohy were all named to the second team.

And we’re now just 52 days away from Flames Football. Liberty opens the season at home against Bowling Green on September 2^nd.
